Frequently Asked Questions

I need your help with my dog’s behavior, what’s my first step?

Email me a short summary of what you need help with or call me any time. When we talk, I’ll explain how I can help you. I’ll also give you some advice that will help you whether you enlist my help or not. After our call I will get you scheduled.

How can you help me with only one session?

One of the reasons that I am so successful is that I can quickly spot the root cause of most behavioral issues.  Whatever is actually wrong is creating an un-balanced state in the dog. Often the root cause isn’t apparent to the owner or he would have handled it.  Once you get your dog balanced, the “bad” behaviors subside. This is why I can handle all of your issues in just one session. (See In Home Session)

After my visit you will get an in depth and detailed report, with homework for you and your family to do for the next couple of weeks to restore your relationship with your dog and return him to a balanced state. I will be there at the other end of the phone, round the clock for guidance,  to answer any questions, and for any new situations that may arise.

I have three dogs. Is your fee more?

My fee is the same up to about 8 dogs in your home.

How long is the session?

Plan about 3 hours. If I need more time, no worries, I’m not on the clock. I have a certain few things that I have to teach you & I’ll be there until you know everything you need to know to change things & restore harmony to your home.

Do you have to see the unwanted behaviors to fix them?

No. If I do that’s fine too. I help you to easily and naturally create balance that, along with increased trust & respect, will lead to instinctual cooperation. Imagine that! Your dogs will begin to defer to you for your decision rather than doing the things you don’t want.  Some clients have a long list of unwanted behaviors. Because balance is so important, once the dogs are balanced most of the unwanted behaviors dissipate. It’s quite amazing.

Do you come to me?

How much is the session?

I’m a specialist. I’m not cheap. I travel the entire state helping dogs. After reading this please call or email me with where you live & I’ll tell you my fee.

Do you use E-collars, shock collars, choke collars, prong collars or any oher corrective gadgets or devices?

No. You don’t need pain or fear of pain to train. I don’t even use commands or hand signals and no treats for training or behavior. Just You & your dog. It’s very primal & instinctual.

I noticed you are not certified by CCPDT, or IAABC?

I looked into these certifications but I found that I would have to agree to use methods that I am drastically opposed to; shock collars, e-collars, pain or fear-inducing devices and harsh methods, that in my 17 years of experience I have found actually harm dogs. As I have stated elsewhere on my website, I am often the 3rd or 4th person called in to clean up after these methods. I will not agree to use or promote them. I am listed with USADT (United States Association of Dog Trainers) who have given me their seal of approval and trust. I also have an A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau. My experience working with thousands of dogs successfully says it all.

Why do you say no cages? My dog loves it, it’s his den.

No he doesn’t love it, it is not his den, in fact it’s a trap, a prison cell.  In the wild he chooses his den and never ever closes the door on himself so he can’t get out.

Contrary to the prevailing wisdom that he likes it and that it’s like a den, in fact you are holding your dog hostage and he will eventually act like a “caged animal.”  That is where the phrase comes from.

The only necessity for a cage is at the vet when injured etc or when required for travel.

Do you work every day?

Yes, even weekends & holidays.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes. Credit, debit or cash. No checks.
